On the eve of the 5th National Forum "Museums of Belarus"

The National Forum "Museums of Belarus" is a unique platform for the exchange of experience and the development of museum work. Since 2012, it has become an important and long-awaited event in the cultural life of the whole country. Forum participants and invited guests gather for several days in one of the cities of Belarus to discuss problems in the development of museum business and demonstrate their achievements. In 2022, the forum will be held in Minsk. The main objectives of the forum "Museums of Belarus":

  • revival, development, popularization of the best traditions and achievements of the national and world culture, familiarization of the general public with it;
  • demonstration and popularization of museum activities, the experience of research and cultural and educational work;
  • stimulation of modern information technologies usage in the museum business;
  • promotion of innovative approaches in museum business aimed at preserving and interpreting the historical and cultural heritage of Belarus;
  • consolidation of the museum community, improving the professional skills of the forum participants;
  • expansion of business contacts and partnerships between museums and organizations from other fields of professional activity;
  • development and strengthening of international cultural ties.

On the eve of the 5th National Forum "Museums of Belarus", we decided to recall how the pavilions of museums looked like in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2019.

The 1st National Forum "Museums of Belarus" was held on October 12 — 14, 2012 in Grodno. More than 150 museums of Belarus became its participants. As part of the foreign program of the forum, experts from Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Israel, Slovakia, Latvia and other countries spoke. The 2nd National Forum "Museums of Belarus" was held on September 26 — 27, 2014 in Gomel. The theme of the forum was "Museum and Society: from Communication to Interaction". The 3rd National Forum "Museums of Belarus" was held on September 30 — October 2, 2016 in Mogilev. The 5th National Forum "Museums of Belarus" will be held on December 2-4, 2022 in Minsk.
